Company Policy

KITCHEN CABINET POLICY

WOOD & MATERIAL COMPOSITION

  • Wood is a natural product and, by its nature, expands and contracts in response to temperature and humidity changes. This seasonal movement is normal and unavoidable.
  • As a result, small gaps (typically 1mm–3mm) may appear or close along joints, seams, or mitered corners of cabinet doors. These shifts are natural characteristics of wood and are not considered defects, nor are they covered under warranty.
  • Variations in wood color, grain, mineral streaks, and knots are also natural and do not qualify as defects.
  • Maple wood, specifically, has a subtle grain pattern with uniform appearance. Its color ranges from creamy white to pale red/brown and may include bird’s eye dots and mineral streaks.
  • Engineered materials (MDF, particle board, veneers, etc.) may behave differently than solid wood, but minor surface or finish variations may still occur and are likewise not considered defects.
  •

ORDER CHANGES & CANCELLATIONS

  • All order changes or cancellations requested after processing are subject to a minimum 25% restocking fee.
  • Certain vendors prohibit changes or cancellations once an order is placed. In such cases, the order is final and non-cancellable.

STORAGE POLICY & DISCONTINUED LINES

  • com strives to deliver or schedule pick-up promptly after products arrive at our warehouse. If the customer delays delivery or pick-up for more than 21 calendar days, KitchenSearch.com reserves the right to:
    1. Assess a storage fee of $25 per day, or
    2. Treat the order as abandoned and resell or return the goods. In such case, the customer will be refunded the purchase price minus a 25% restocking fee and any applicable costs.
  • Custom orders may remain in storage for longer periods when additional work is required. In such cases, KitchenSearch.com will use reasonable efforts to coordinate with the customer but is not responsible for manufacturer discontinuation of styles, colors, or product lines during the storage period.
  • com is not liable if, at a later date, a manufacturer discontinues a product line and replacement parts or matching items are no longer available. Customers acknowledge that discontinued items cannot be guaranteed for future additions or replacements.

DAMAGES, ERRORS & EXCHANGES

  • All products must be inspected upon delivery. Any visible damage must be noted on the delivery receipt. Hidden damages discovered upon opening must be reported within five (5) business days of delivery. Claims received after this period will not be accepted.
  • Installed, altered, or modified products are deemed accepted and cannot be returned, refunded, or exchanged.
  • Damaged or missing components will be replaced within approximately six (6) weeks, subject to vendor lead times.
  • In the event of manufacturer error (e.g., wrong finish, wrong size, or missing pieces), KitchenSearch.com will assist in obtaining replacements as quickly as possible. However, KitchenSearch.com shall not be liable for project delays, contractor scheduling conflicts, labor costs, or other consequential or incidental damages arising from such errors.

BASE CABINET INSTALLATION

  • Base cabinets may be installed over permanent flooring (tile, hardwood, glue-down/nail-down engineered flooring, etc.).
  • Base cabinets cannot be installed directly over floating floors (LVP, laminate, floating engineered wood).

CLOSET INSTALLATION POLICY

INSTALLATION DATE

  • com (“KS”) will contact you to schedule installation on a mutually convenient date (“Installation Date”). Every effort will be made to honor this date; however, it is subject to change due to circumstances beyond KS’s control (e.g., weather, delivery delays, subcontractor availability). In such cases, KS will reschedule at no additional charge.
  • If your premises has restrictions or unusual building logistics (e.g., elevator access, HOA requirements, security access, or permits), you must notify KS at the time of scheduling.
  • KS is registered with the Pennsylvania Office of Attorney General under the Home Improvement Consumer Protection Act (HICPA), Registration No. PA179016.

INSURANCE & LIABILITY

  • Closet installations may be performed by KS employees or independent subcontractors.
  • All subcontractors must maintain general liability insurance and provide proof of insurance upon request. KS verifies proof of insurance but is not responsible for subcontractor negligence beyond the extent of its own coverage.
  • KS’s liability for installation or service work is limited to the cost of the services rendered. KS shall not be liable for incidental or consequential damages, including but not limited to project delays, labor costs, loss of use, or impacts to contractor schedules.

INSTALLATION PROCESS

  • Customer must provide access to the premises at the scheduled Installation Date and time.
  • A suitable work space must be designated for cutting and assembly. Customer must remove fragile and valuable items and personal property from both the installation and work space areas. KS is not responsible for damage to property not removed prior to installation.
  • Upon completion, customer must inspect the project and report any defects, issues, or concerns within five (5) business days of installation. Claims made after this period will not be accepted, and the work will be deemed accepted.
  • Children must remain clear of the installation area at all times. Pets must be leashed or contained.
  • Installers will use reasonable efforts to clean up after installation; however, sawdust and minor debris are normal byproducts of the process.

RESCHEDULING

  • Installation may be rescheduled at no charge with at least 7 business days’ notice.
  • Rescheduling with fewer than 7 business days’ notice will result in a non-refundable fee equal to 10% of the total project price.

EXTENDED INSTALLATION

SITE READINESS & CONDITIONS

  • Customer is responsible for ensuring that the jobsite is ready upon arrival. This includes:
    • Walls, ceilings, and floors must be level, plumb, and structurally sound.

  • Closet systems are installed level and plumb. Because most walls and floors are not perfectly straight, small gaps between systems and walls are normal and not defects.
  • Trim moldings to conceal gaps may be purchased at additional cost.
  • Baseboards are typically left in place and panels are scribed around them. In some cases, KS may remove baseboards to complete installation. KS is not responsible for reinstalling or repairing baseboards, drywall, flooring, or paint.

SCOPE OF WORK

  • The scope of work is defined in your project proposal and/or contract. It includes installation of closet systems as specified.
  • Excluded services: electrical, painting, spackling, wall repair, flooring, or removal of artwork and fixtures.
  • Any work not explicitly included in the written contract is considered out of scope and requires a signed change order with additional charges.

STAINLESS STEEL SINK CARE POLICY

ESSENTIAL CARE TIPS

  • Wipe the sink dry after each use to prevent water spots.
  • Use a protective bottom grid to minimize scratches.
  • Clean regularly with a non-abrasive cleanser or a baking soda paste.
  • For hard water stains, use vinegar. Buff the sink with club soda or olive oil for extra shine.
  • Always clean with a soft cloth or non-abrasive scouring pad, rubbing in the direction of the steel grain.

WHAT TO AVOID

  • Do not use cleaners containing chlorides (e.g., chlorine, ammonia, bleach) — these damage the sink’s protective layer.
  • Do not use steel wool, abrasive sponges, or metal brushes — they can scratch the surface and cause rust.
  • Avoid leaving rubber mats, wet sponges, rags, or cast iron cookware in the sink for extended periods — these can trap moisture and cause stains or discoloration.
  • Do not use oven cleaners, harsh chemicals, or other corrosive products. If these come into contact with the sink, rinse thoroughly and dry immediately.

RUST REMOVAL

  • For minor rust or stains, use a mild cleaner such as Bar Keepers Friend with a soft cloth, rubbing along the direction of the grain.
  • Rinse thoroughly and dry immediately to prevent water spots or residue buildup.

CUSTOMER RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Customer must follow all care and cleaning instructions provided above.
  • Failure to follow these instructions may result in scratches, rusting, discoloration, or damage to the sink, which are not covered under warranty.
  • Proper care and maintenance are the sole responsibility of the customer once the sink has been delivered and installed.

WARRANTY & LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

  • com does not manufacture stainless steel sinks and provides no independent warranties.
  • All warranties are provided solely by the sink manufacturer and are subject to their terms and conditions.
  • com shall not be liable for damage caused by misuse, improper care, harsh chemicals, or failure to follow this care policy.

  • KitchenSearch.com strives to deliver or schedule pick-up promptly after products arrive at our warehouse.
  • KitchenSearch.com is not liable if, at a later date, a manufacturer discontinues a product line and replacement parts or matching items are no longer available.

RETURNS

Most products sold by KitchenSearch.com are custom, assembled, or made-to-order, and are not returnable, including but not limited to:

  • Assembled cabinets
  • Custom or semi-custom cabinetry
  • Countertops (all materials)
  • Closets and related components
  • Special-order or custom-color items

Exceptions (returnable items):

  • Unassembled, stock-color cabinets (if unopened in original packaging)

These items may be returned within 5 business days of delivery, subject to a 25% restocking fee. Returned items must be undamaged, in original packaging, with all accessories included.

  • Shipping and labor fees are non-refundable. Customer is responsible for return shipping to KitchenSearch.com’s warehouse at 1296 Adams Rd, Unit B, Bensalem, PA 19020.

INSTALLED PRODUCTS

  • NOTE: Once cabinets, countertops, or other products are installed, they are deemed accepted. No claims will be accepted on installed products.

PAYMENT TERMS

  • KitchenSearch.com charges a $50 fee for returned checks.
  • Unpaid balances are subject to 1.5% monthly interest (18% annual) or the maximum allowed by law.
  • Customer shall be responsible for all reasonable attorney’s fees and collection costs incurred in recovering unpaid balances.

WARRANTIES

  • All warranties are provided solely by the manufacturer of the product(s) and are subject to the manufacturer’s terms.
  • KitchenSearch.com makes no independent warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose.
  • KitchenSearch.com’s liability is limited to the purchase price of the goods sold. KitchenSearch.com shall not be liable for any consequential, incidental, or special damages, including labor costs, contractor delays, lost profits, or project impacts.

SERVICE VISITS & INSTALLER LIABILITY
From time to time, KitchenSearch.com may provide service technicians to perform minor repairs, adjustments, or replacement of components, even where KitchenSearch.com is not the primary installer. These services are limited to the specific repair or adjustment performed.

Installation services are generally performed by independent subcontractors. Each subcontractor is required to maintain general liability insurance and provide proof of insurance upon request. KitchenSearch.com verifies proof of such insurance but is not responsible for subcontractor negligence beyond the extent of its own insurance coverage.

Customer acknowledges that KitchenSearch.com’s liability for any installation, service, or repair work is limited to the cost of the specific services rendered, and KitchenSearch.com shall not be liable for incidental or consequential damages, including labor, delays, or project impacts.

INSURANCE & LIABILITY

  • Customer acknowledges that KitchenSearch.com’s liability for any installation or service work is limited to the cost of the specific services rendered. KitchenSearch.com shall not be liable for incidental or consequential damages, including but not limited to project delays, labor costs, or impacts to contractor schedules.

    • Walls, ceilings, and floors must be level, square, and free of defects that would interfere with installation.
    • Plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and other utilities must be properly prepared, relocated, or disconnected as required.
    • Work areas must be clear of debris, obstructions, and other tradespeople that could delay or hinder cabinet installation.
  • KitchenSearch.com and its installers are not responsible for correcting pre-existing site conditions. Any delays, additional labor, or modifications required due to site conditions will result in additional charges and may require a signed change order.

BASE CABINET INSTALLATION

  • Base cabinets may be installed over permanent flooring (tile, hardwood, glue-down/nail-down engineered flooring, etc.).
  • Base cabinets cannot be installed directly over floating floors (LVP, laminate, floating engineered wood).
    • In these cases, customer must either:
      1. Raise base cabinets to the height of the floating floor, or
      2. Install floating flooring after cabinetry is in place.
  • KitchenSearch.com and its installers are not responsible for damage to floating floors, gaps, or movement caused by sequencing of flooring and cabinet installation.
  • Floor scribe molding is not included if required after flooring installation.

    • 42” cabinets = ~96”

  • Installation pricing is based on approved kitchen plans prepared by KitchenSearch.com.
  • Any modifications that increase cabinet counts, require additional labor, or alter scope of work will result in additional charges.
  • All change orders must be signed by the customer and paid in full before additional work is performed.

DOOR & DRAWER ALIGNMENT

  • All cabinet doors and drawers will be aligned at time of installation.
  • Customer acknowledges that natural wood expansion/contraction may require seasonal adjustments. Post-installation adjustments requested after 30 days may incur a service fee.

CABINET HARDWARE INSTALLATION

  • Installation of single-hole knobs is included.
  • Additional fees apply for handles, pulls, or hardware requiring multiple holes, templates, or varying sizes.

PAYMENT TERMS

  • The full balance for installation must be paid in advance, prior to work beginning.
  • Payments are non-refundable once materials are ordered and work has commenced.
  • If a project is canceled before work begins, deposits may be refunded minus actual costs incurred (materials, administrative, etc.).

Customer shall be liable for attorney’s fees and collection costs incurred in recovering unpaid balances.

CLOSET INSTALLATION POLICY

INSTALLATION DATE

  • KitchenSearch.com (“KS”) will contact you to schedule installation on a mutually convenient date (“Installation Date”).

  • Some installations may require more than one day depending on conditions or project complexity. KS will coordinate with the customer to complete extended work at no additional labor charge.

SITE READINESS & CONDITIONS

  • Customer is responsible for ensuring that the jobsite is ready upon arrival. This includes:
    • Walls, ceilings, and floors must be level, plumb, and structurally sound.
    • Existing shelving, fixtures, or items on the walls must be removed in advance.
    • Electrical, plumbing, or HVAC work must be completed prior to installation.
    • Work area must be accessible and free of obstructions or other trades that may delay work.
  • KS is not responsible for correcting pre-existing site conditions. Additional labor, modifications, or delays caused by site conditions will require a signed change order and additional charges.

GAPS, BASEBOARDS & TRIM

PAYMENT TERMS

  • Full payment is required prior to installation.
  • Payments are non-refundable once materials are ordered and work has commenced.
  • If a project is canceled before work begins, deposits may be refunded minus actual costs incurred.
  • Unpaid balances are subject to 1.5% monthly interest (18% annual) or the maximum permitted by law. Customer shall be responsible for attorney’s fees and collection costs incurred in recovering unpaid balances.

CLOSET POLICY

  • KS closet systems are constructed with 3/4″ M-2 grade furniture board and a durable Thermally Fused Laminate (TFL) finish. The laminate is permanently bonded using heat (not glue), creating a long-lasting, durable surface.
  • Normal variations in color, texture, sheen, or edge banding are not defects and are excluded from warranty coverage.

RETURNS

  • Custom closet systems are made to order and cannot be returned under any circumstances, whether the boxes are opened or unopened.
  • Non-custom items such as stock moldings and fillers in standard finishes may be returned within five (5) business days of delivery, subject to a 25% restocking fee.
  • Returned items must be undamaged, in original packaging, and include all accessories.
  • Customer is responsible for return shipping to KitchenSearch.com’s warehouse. Shipping and labor fees are non-refundable.

WARRANTY

  • All warranties are provided solely by the manufacturer and are subject to the manufacturer’s terms and conditions.
  • KS makes no independent warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose.
  • The manufacturer’s limited warranty applies only to defects in material or workmanship under normal residential use. Improper installation, misuse, neglect, alterations, or exposure to abnormal conditions (humidity, temperature, water) void the warranty.

DAMAGES

  • All products must be inspected immediately upon delivery.
  • Visible damages must be noted with the carrier at time of delivery. Hidden damages must be reported to KS with supporting photos within five (5) business days of delivery.
  • Claims submitted after this period will not be accepted.
  • Installed or altered products are deemed accepted and cannot be claimed as damaged.

WRONG PRODUCTS

  • In some cases, packaging may appear different than expected. Customers should contact KS support to confirm contents.
  • If incorrect products were shipped, KS will expedite replacements at no additional cost.
  • Do not install suspected incorrect products. Installed or altered products will be deemed accepted and cannot be returned as “wrong product.”

CHANGE ORDERS

  • Pricing is based on the approved closet design prepared by KitchenSearch.com.
  • Any modifications that increase material quantities, require additional labor, or alter the scope of work will result in additional charges.
  • All change orders must be signed by the customer and paid in full before additional work or materials are provided.

STORAGE POLICY

  • KS can hold customer orders for up to 30 calendar days free of charge after the order is ready for delivery.
  • Beginning on the 31st day, a storage fee of $25 per calendar day will apply until delivery or pickup.
  • KS is not responsible if a manufacturer discontinues products or finishes during the storage period. Customers acknowledge that discontinued items cannot be guaranteed for future additions or replacements.

PAYMENT TERMS

  • Full payment is required prior to production and/or shipment of closet systems.
  • Payments are non-refundable once materials are ordered and work has commenced.
  • If a project is canceled before work begins, deposits may be refunded minus actual costs incurred (materials, administrative, etc.).
  • Unpaid balances are subject to 1.5% monthly interest (18% annual) or the maximum permitted by law.
  • Customer shall be responsible for all reasonable attorney’s fees and collection costs incurred in recovering unpaid balances.

COUNTERTOP TEMPLATING FEE POLICY

OVERVIEW

A non-refundable templating fee is required at the time of scheduling your template appointment. This fee ensures precise digital measurements by our countertop fabrication partner and facilitates a seamless installation process.

APPLICATION OF FEE

  • If you proceed with an order: the full templating fee will be applied as a credit toward your final balance for countertop fabrication and installation.
  • If you do not proceed with an order: the templating fee is non-refundable. It covers the costs of travel, labor, scheduling, and specialized templating equipment used by the countertop fabricator.

RESCHEDULING & CANCELLATIONS

  • Template appointments may be rescheduled with at least 4 business days’ notice at no additional charge.
  • Rescheduling with less than 4 business days’ notice, canceling, or failure to provide site readiness as described above will result in forfeiture of the templating fee. A new fee will be required to rebook.

RETURN TRIPS

  • If templating cannot be completed due to missing items, uninstalled cabinets, unsecured farmhouse sinks, or other site readiness issues, the countertop fabricator reserves the right to charge an additional return-trip fee to cover travel, labor, and scheduling costs. The fee amount will be determined based on distance and time requirements.

LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

  • Templating services are performed by Kitchen Search’s countertop fabrication partner. Kitchen Search coordinates scheduling but does not control the fabricator’s scheduling, workmanship, or policies.
  • KS’s responsibility is limited to applying the templating fee as a credit toward your countertop order if you proceed.

  • KitchenSearch.com does not manufacture stainless steel sinks and provides no independent warranties.
  • All warranties are provided solely by the sink manufacturer and are subject to their terms and conditions.
  • KitchenSearch.com shall not be liable for damage caused by misuse, improper care, harsh chemicals, or failure to follow this care policy.
